The research initiative SiLi-nano is currently organizing an International Workshop on Silicon to Light & Light to Silicon - Materials, Characterization and Applications - to be held in Halle/Germany on July 9-10, 2007.
This workshop will involve approximately 20-30 invited speakers to cover different subjects in the field of integrated silicon photonics, sensors, and photovoltaics. The organizers will cover travel, accommodation, and living expenses within federal guidelines. Moreover, we encourage students, who are working in the field to present posters. Limited financial support is available for them upon request.
The workshop will tackle research and technology as well as projections of the market potential and future applications.
Talks are planned in the following areas:
- Silicon Light Emitting Diodes / Silicon Lasers
- Photon Management in Solar Cells
- Next Generation Photovoltaics
- Photovoltaic Market – International Trends
The workshop language will be English.
The scope of this workshop is to bring people of the above mentioned different areas together to discuss where the different approaches find their specific markets or applications.
